Philippe Meier, PhD Philippe Meier, PhD in law (Fribourg, Switzerland), attorney at law, has been practising law at the Bars of Geneva and Vaud for almost 20 years and is presently an Off-Counsel with Schmidt Jaton & Partners in Geneva and Lausanne/Pully (Switzerland), specialized in private and commercial law. He is a full-time professor (civil law and data protection law) at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), after having lectured for over 10 years at the Universities of Neuchâtel, Fribourg, Geneva and Lausanne (Switzerland). He is the author of over 60 books, commentaries and academic papers. He has been the legal counsel of HPM since the foundation of the company in 1997 and its Chairman of the Board since 2002. |

Gerd Kassel, PhD, MD Gerd Kassel graduated as an MD at the Free University of Berlin and is board certified as an internist. He also holds a PhD degree in Physics. He has worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry since 1990 serving as global head of pharmacovigilance for Altana Pharma and for Takeda Global Research and Development in Europe and US. In these roles he was involved in a number of clinical development projects and marketing approval procedures. Before working in the industry, he had gained broad clinical experience working in several hospitals (surgery, internal medicine, neurology) and at the Institute for Tropical Diseases in Berlin. |

Ernest Loumaye, MD, PhD Ernest Loumaye is the CEO and co-founder of PregLem SA, a biopharmaceutical company in Geneva (Switzerland), specializing in the development of innovative products for reproductive medicine. He gained his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Louvain (Belgium) where he qualified as a doctor, and as a specialist in OB/GYN, and where he today holds the position of Visiting Professor of Gynaecological Endocrinology. He began his career working at Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc (UCL, Brussels, Belgium), rising to the position of Deputy Head of Clinic in the Department of OB/GYN. In 1991, he moved to the pharmaceutical industry, joining Serono (Geneva, Switzerland) where he led the clinical development of new drugs for reproductive medicine. He served as a member of the Serono Reproductive Health (RH) Strategic Committee from 2000-2002. In 2003 he joined IPSEN as Vice President Medical Sciences, before founding PregLem in June 2006. |
